AIMS & OBJECTIVES:

The design aim was to create an urban extension that blends with the existing town and act as a catalyst for the existing retail and leisure marketplace. The new development included bringing in major anchor stores, cinema and car parking in the centre of Carmarthen, bringing in much needed investment and capital to the area. The primary design objective and requirement from the local authority was to ensure that the new development works seamlessly integrated with the existing urban grain and improve connections. This also included the refurbishment and expansion of the existing indoor market and town square to the south.
